Community Connection

Our BBBEE philosophy

At Scorpion, we recognise the opportunity to contribute to South Africa’s transformation through building a democratic and equitable society. By embracing diversity in our workforce and fostering a culture of awareness, tolerance and inclusivity, we hope to contribute to our country’s growth and development on a larger scale.

Corporate Social Investment (CSI)

Community Connection is Scorpion Legal Protection’s corporate social investment, fundraising and employee volunteer department. We aim to support the communities in which we operate, to ensure that our staff get the most out of the experience and achieve a significant impact in the local community. Employees are encouraged to give back and support communities.

Our Community Connection team is always on hand to support communities by offering financial and volunteer support, advice and guidance.

Community partners

Scorpion seeks to develop long-term partnerships with non-profit organisations (NPOs/NGOs) which have the community's best interests at heart and are willing to share and learn with us in the complex development environment. For example, Scorpion has partnered with Families South Africa (FAMSA), a non-governmental organisation committed to promoting family wellbeing. FAMSA empowers people to build, reconstruct, and maintain sound relationships in the family, marriage, and community.

Member bursary programme: Changing lives through education

Since 2010, the Scorpion member bursary programme has assisted students in obtaining tertiary qualifications. The bursary is available to paid-up Scorpion members whose child intends to study a law course or law degree and has been accepted by a recognised tertiary institution of their choice. Bursaries are awarded to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who perform well academically.
